PERFECTION IN A BOTTLE: PAI'S ROSEHIP OIL
A few weeks ago a family friend very kindly recommended me this little wonder of a product. As a fellow sufferer of the odd eczema flare-up - like me - she stressed how much this oil had helped her skin like no other product before and urged me to try it out. Knowing just how ridiculously sensitive my skin is, I was both excited and anxious to try out a new oil; considering how badly my skin usually reacts to anything oil-based.
I contacted Pai to see how I could go about trying a sample (I have gone down the road of spending hundreds on my skin before - previous to learning that actually, it made way more sense to trial samples instead) and to my delight they popped a 10ml sample of their Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil in the post.
This. Product. Is. Incredible.
As I'm sure some of you know, my skin is extremely temperamental; having suffered from eczema my whole life, I have to be extremely careful with what I apply to my complexion and, what may work for my skin some days, ever-so-annoyingly may not work on other days. It just depends when my skin wants to throw a tantrum.
I was blown away by this product, and it completely flipped my opinion on oils for my dry skin. From the moment I applied three drops of the fluorescent oil (as instructed) to my face - and massaged in circular movements - my skin calmed. I felt that it may have been enough to leave just the oil on my skin, however I didn't want to risk it, as my skin is so dry that if I leave it with thin product, it can end up tight and uncomfortable. So I left the oil on for 20 minutes and applied my usual heavy moisturiser on top, for extra hydration as per. I know that most people say cream-based products should be applied first, with oil applied afterwards to seal in moisture, however personally I feel that applying makeup directly on top of oil wouldn't go down well for my complexion.
Now, on to the product. The oil itself is thick and substantial; whilst I'm usually put off by oils being thin and flimsy (usually being nowhere-near-enough coverage for my complexion), this oil feels reliable and easy to work with. The instructed three drops are by far enough, and, once massaged in to the face, you are left with beautiful, organic-smelling skin, which is calmed and most of all, oh-so-baby-soft.
I was simply blown away. After years of just having to stick with prescribed medicines for my skin and avoiding all oils and natural products (because whenever my skin hears 'natural' it goes crazy, for whatever reason), I had finally found something that felt amazing on my skin. I trialed it for a further 4 days, eventually using it three times a day (in the morning, after work and before bed) underneath my usual cream and I even used it on the risky days my facial eczema was flaring. If anything, this oil completely calmed my flare-ups. I couldn't believe it.
The best thing about the oil is that it's made purely from the famous Rosehip CO2 extract (renowned for its amazing healing properties) and seed oil. When you know you are putting something on to your skin that contains only natural goodness, it makes skincare so much more reliable.
Being such a cautious skin-trialer (and quite rightly so), I used this 10ml tube of goodness up after 5 days (I was impressed by how much of a long way it went) just to be sure, and then I had to visit Pai's website and buy a full 30ml bottle - no hesitations.
3 days later my beloved bottle turned up at my doorstep and I have been in love ever since! My skin has been nothing but calm, smooth and hydrated every single day because of this product. It is a huge thing for me to say I have found a new skincare favourite, but I really and truly have found something that will be a stable part of my skin routine now for years to come. So, thank you, Pai, for creating something so naturally wonderful in every single way. Please never discontinue it!
